Más Información Marcelo Cornejo-Alaniz (1981) studied Medical Technology at the University of Antofagasta (Chile), obtaining the professional title of Medical Technologist in 2012. From 2012 to 2020, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Antofagasta in various projects financed by the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (FONDECYT) of the National Agency for Research and Development (ANID) (Chile). In addition to participating as a professor in physiology and pathophysiology at the University of Antofagasta. In 2016, he entered the Master's program in Biomedical Sciences in Applied Physiology at the same University, obtaining his degree in mid-2018 under the direction of Dr. Luis Sobrevia at the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Physiology (CMPL), Faculty of Medicine of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and Dr. Marco Ramírez from the University of Antofagasta. Since 2020, he has been enrolled in the Doctorate in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Talca and is currently developing his doctoral project under the direction of Dr. Sobrevia. The doctoral research revolves around fetoplacental dysfunction in women with obesity and diabetes mellitus and the role of intracellular pH, adenosine receptors, and AP-1 transcriptional factors in this pathology. Currently, he is developing activities for a double degree in the Department of Pathology and Medical Biology, University Medical Center Groningen, The Netherlands.
